How Vicinage works
Every engagement follows the same documented four-step path. You have visibility at every stage, and the final word on the report is yours.

Tell us what to check
Submit your request through the online form. You specify the category, the counterparty or site, exactly what you need verified, your deadline, and your offer.
Your request goes straight to matching inspectors near you. They accept your offer or counter, usually within hours. Nothing moves forward until you select an inspector at an agreed price.

Choose your inspector
Qualified inspectors near the site take up your job. You see each one's profile, specialism, city, and rating, and you can message them about your scope.
You pick the person who will represent you, from the inspectors available for your job. We do not assign. Every inspector is vetted before they can take a single job, and they carry Vicinage identification to all visits.

Independent site visit
On the agreed date, the inspector arrives at the site, with no tip-off to the party being checked. Arrival and departure are geotagged, and every photo carries GPS coordinates and a timestamp in its metadata, so it cannot be back-dated.
Observations are recorded against a structured checklist tailored to your service. The inspector also captures a walk-through video and free-form notes for anything outside the standard checklist.
If a visit must be rescheduled or cannot be completed (locked premises, refusal of access), that is documented and reported. It is a finding, not a failure.

A report, and the final word is yours
Your inspector submits a structured PDF: the engagement reference, the inspector's identity, all geotagged photos with captions, observations against your scope, the findings, and the inspector's signed declaration.
Review it and accept, or send it back for amendment. Nothing is marked complete until you are satisfied, and if you do not respond it auto-accepts after 7 days. Our team steps in if anything is in dispute.
Reports are delivered within an agreed timeframe, counted from when you pay, usually around 5 business days.
Defensibility
Every report is built to hold up. Geotagged evidence, a verified inspector identity, timestamps that cannot be back-dated, the inspector's signed declaration, and your own recorded acceptance mean the report reflects exactly what was found on the day. Read the full methodology for detail.
